Mark’s Tuesday Evening Weather Report

Mark Ronchetti

After another quiet storm day today things really began to ramp up on Wednesday. A weather disturvance over Arizona combined with moisture sliding up from the south will help to crank up storms in western and central New Mexico. This bigger storm crop will hold through Thursday before drier air starts to punch in by Friday. Areas like Gallup and Farmington have been pretty dry so far this monsoon season that will change over the next 48 hours.

Here in the metro area our best chance for storms will actually come on Thursday but we should see a decent number of storms tomorrow as well. Below are the model projections for rainfall over the next couple of days. As you can tell an inch of rain is broadly expected across a good portion of western New Mexico. Here in the metro if we could pick up a half-inch we would be doing very well. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
