Cleveland Storm hopes to build on 10-win season

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Last season the Cleveland Storm fell to Mayfield by just one point in the semi-finals of the 5A state high school playoffs. This year, Storm head coach Heath Ridenour says his team is ready to make another run at making a deep playoff run with only six seniors and a lot of underclassmen on the field.

“We’ve got a lot of juniors and sophomores playing. Talented group, strong group, an athletic group, but young and inexperienced and the leadership is what we are going to miss. That’s the hard thing you have to build with this group, a new group those kids have to learn to be leaders.” said Ridenour.

The Cleveland Storm open the season versus the Manzano Monarchs on Aug. 30. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
