Accused drunk driver in double fatal crash indicted

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque grand jury indicted a man Monday accused of driving drunk and killing his girlfriend and her 1-year-old son.

Bernalillo County sheriff’s deputies say 41-year-old Carlos Rosales-Polanco lost control on Coors last month, slammed into a utility pole and then rolled his pickup into a field.

Adriana Chavez-Miranda, 30, was killed along with her toddler. A 10-year-old boy was severely injured but survived.

Deputies say alcohol and speed were factors in the deadly crash.

Monday, Rosales-Polanco was indicted on multiple charges including child abuse resulting in death and vehicular homicide.

According to jail records, he’s being held on a $250,000 bond
