ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Deputies say four people were arrested Sunday night after children ran to a nearby screaming for help for their mom.
Around 11:30 p.m. dispatchers received a call from a woman saying there were two children at her door screaming and saying their dad was going to hurt their mom, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department.
The person inside the home did not answer the door, but saw a male subject pick up the kids and put them in a vehicle, BCSO said. The caller then said the man carried a woman to the vehicle who appeared to be unresponsive.
Deputies responded to the scene on the 7500 block of Isleta and found a large pool of blood. Detectives were called in to identify the suspect, 47-year-old Ramon Saenz. Deputies say they were able to track him and the victims down at a residence near 12th and Iron.
The woman had severe injuries on her face and body and was taken to the hospital, according to deputies. The children appeared to be OK.
Deputies say Saenz was trying to destroy evidence with the help of the residents in the Iron home. Saenz and three other people – Mary Acosta, 64; Ramon Armas, 21; and David Armas, 20 – were all arrested.
Search warrants are being served, deputies say, and the investigation is ongoing.
