ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police are now saying they are looking for 46-year-old Marcos Delgado, who they’re calling a person of interest in a shooting that left one person dead and three others injured.
It happened outside of a business in a busy part of northeast Albuquerque and a lot of people saw the whole thing unfold.
It’s still a very active scene almost 10 hours after this whole thing started. Part of Vassar is blocked off and News 13 is told the shooting happened near an auto detailing shop.
Police were called to the scene around 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Witnesses say they heard more than a dozen gunshots outside a business.
Responding officers called it a gruesome scene with four people shot. One of those victims died, and the others are still in the hospital. Several witnesses say the victims are women and that a dog was also injured but APD will not confirm any of that right now.
People in the area said they saw a black car speed away from the scene. Police are looking for a black car, but officers would not confirm whether they believe Marcos Delgado was in that car but police are asking the public to be on the lookout for him.
“He does have a violent history, so please use caution do not approach this person he is considered armed and dangerous at this time detectives need to contact him so that interviews can be arranged and performed,” said Sgt. Ferris Simmons.
Delgado has been arrested for drugs, resisting officers and domestic violence in the past.
Police haven’t named a possible motive but some witnesses said this could have started as a fight between a man and a woman.
