ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – New Mexico Congressman Steve Pearce says he’ll moderate a town hall meeting about the immigrants housed in southern New Mexico. Pearce says the feds asked him about the possible meeting during his recent visit to the federal law enforcement training center in Artesia.
Some people in Artesia have been concerned with their health and safety since the immigrants arrived back in June.
Right now, the center is holding about 600 women and children from Central America. However, no more are coming in or out because of chicken pox.
Pearce says two people have the virus and are isolated.
