Clovis school fire
Officials are investigating the cause of a Clovis school fire.

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A fire at an old elementary school in Clovis is being investigated.

It happened Thursday morning at the old Lockwood Elementary School which was vacant. The fire began at around 8:00 a.m. and it took fire crews about an hour to extinguish the fire.

Officials say the gym and the storage area were heavily damaged.

They also noted that the utilities were shut off so they don’t suspect anything like a faulty wire as the cause of the blaze.
