CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A jury found a Clovis man guilty Thursday in the robbery and murder of a pedestrian last year. Daniel Murrell, 25, the third attacked 61-year-old Joe Garcia as he walked home from a convenience store in January of 2013.

Garcia was beaten so badly he died three days later.

Murrell was also charged with the beating and armed robbery of an 82-year-old man two days after Garica was attacked.

Murrell is facing a sentence of life plus 28 years because of prior felony convictions. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
