U.S. Secretary of Energy to visit WIPP

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – Next week, U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz will visit WIPP.

He’s scheduled to visit Tuesday for the first time since the Feb. 14 reaction that sent radioactive particles into the air above the repository.

The leak contaminated 22 workers with low levels of radiation.
