SANTA FE (KRQE) – New Mexico Search and Rescue volunteers have located the missing 75-year-old hiker who vanished in the mountains near Santa Fe five days ago.

State police said the body of Audrey Kaplan was found around 2 p.m. Monday about a mile from where she was last seen.

Kaplan disappeared Wednesday. Her husband said the two were hunting for mushrooms, then they split up.

On Sunday, 80 people went searching for her, scouring the mountain near the Santa Fe Ski Basin. They had search dogs and even looked from the air.

Kaplan’s cause of death has not been determined.
