ABQ leads in revitalization contest

ABQ, revitalization, contest

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque is coming out on top in a national competition, but it hasn’t won yet.

The winner gets cash to help revitalize the city.

Albuquerque created a five-minute video saying why the city could use $100,000 from the City Accelerator Competition.

The mayor says the money would help revitalize downtown and help the economy.

The other four cities include Louisville, Nashville, San Jose, Denver and Philadelphia.

Albuquerque’s pitch has been viewed more twice – and in some cases three times – more than the other cities’ videos.

Albuquerque and San Jose both have five stars. The rest of the cities have four stars.

Even though Albuquerque was one of the cities to win the popularity contest, there’s still a few more phases to decide who gets the cash.
