Dog bites girl, man in ABQ home

ABQ dog bite

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man was rushed to the hospital Saturday after he was bit in the testicles by a pit bull while trying to stop the dog from biting his daughter.

APD says officers responded to the 6500 block of Kelly NE in reference to the dog bite. There they found an 8-year-old girl that had been bit in the face by the family’s 90-pound pit bull mix.

The father attempted to stop the dog when he was severely bit. Paramedics treated the girl on scene but the man was rushed to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.

According to APD, “Stitches” belonged to a relative who had passed away.

Animal Control was on scene and advises that new owners should slowly introduce themselves to a new pet especially when children are involved. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
