Search intensifies for missing hiker

SANTA FE (KRQE) – The search for a missing Santa Fe woman has intensified.

There are more than 80 people actively involved in the search for 75-year-old Audrey Kaplan near the ski basin.

There are also search and scent dogs out and aircraft will be sent up weather permitting.

Kaplan was hiking with her husband Wednesday morning past the ski basin, gathering mushrooms for cooking.

We are told her husband got tired and waited for her at a trailhead.

She said she would be back in a few minutes, but she never returned.

Search crews have found tracks they believe could be Kaplan’s, but the search continues.

She’s spent two nights up there now.
