President Obama gets famous Tim Harris hug

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KRQE) – Albuquerque restaurant owner Tim Harris was at the White House on Thursday night, but wasn’t the only special part of the evening.

President Barack Obama and the First Lady hosted a Special Olympics celebration where the president specifically recognized Tim.

“Now he has a restaurant in Albuquerque called Tim’s Place. The most popular item is the hug Tim gives his customers, and so far, more than 42,000 have been served.” Obama said.

The president then said, “Hey Tim, I didn’t get a hug.”

Tim emerged from the audience and gave the president one of his signature hugs, bringing a smile to the face of the chief executive and everybody in attendance.
