International cake convention opens in ABQ

World’s best cake decorators descend on ABQ.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – News 13 told you this weekend Albuquerque would be the cake capitol of the world and Friday proves it. One cake even made it all the way from Peru.

The International Cake Exploration Society also known as ICES goes to a different city every year to spotlight the latest in sugar art.

This year the Duke City is playing the proud host.

Organizers say artists and spectators take to the road and make the convention because everybody loves cake.

Staring Saturday the convention is open to the public.
