Early morning narcotics arrest nets 2

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Officers arrested two people and found more than 100 crack cocaine rocks while serving warrants in the foothills Friday.

Multiple law enforcement agencies including; APD SWAT, BCSO SWAT, Rio Rancho SWAT, Homeland Security agents, Vice and Meth Units were all on hand to serve four warrants to Jeffrey Smith and Jamarcus Clark early Friday morning.

APD says Smith was arrested for trafficking a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, felon in possession of a firearm and a warrant. Police say Smith has a very extensive history and has been arrested for various reasons such as aggravated assault, child abuse and animal cruelty.

Clark was arrested on three outstanding warrants and he was also charged with trafficking a controlled substance.

In addition to the drugs police found a rifle and a handgun.

The investigation into the incident in ongoing and officials say more arrests are pending.
