Reward offered for info in animal abuse case

Sam the kitten
A kitten is now being treated after someone threw him at a wall from a moving vehicle.

LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) – There is now a $500 reward for information about who threw a kitten at a brick wall, from a moving truck.

Sam, an 8-week-old kitten, was brought into the Bosque Animal Clinic Wednesday after someone threw him out of a truck on Camelot Boulevard in Los Lunas.

Sam suffered a bloody nose, head trauma, a broken left elbow, and may be blind.

Since our story aired Wednesday phones have been ringing off the hook at the vet clinic and people have donated more than $1500. The money will pay for Sam’s surgery.

Thursday a specialist examined him to see if his leg could be saved but they still say amputation is the best bet.

The money left over from the surgery will go to a fund to help other animals.

The Alliance Against Animal Abuse is offering the $500 reward.
