Hobbs man killed in oil field explosion.

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – A Hobbs man has been killed in an oil field accident.

Eddy County Sheriff’s deputies say there was an explosion on Kincaid Ranch south of Artesia Wednesday while a crew working for Diversified Oil Field Services was cutting a pipe line.

All the workers were able to get out, except for 21-year-old Fabien Martinez, who was pinned by the pipe.

It’s believed Martinez was exposed to the hydrogen sulfide gas causing his death.
