Councilors put Santa Fe bike underpass on hold

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Plans for a bike and pedestrian underpass in Santa Fe are on hold indefinitely after the Santa Fe city council voted to shift $2 million slated for the project to other bicycle and pedestrian projects.

The underpass was supposed to be built at the busy intersection of west Alameda and St. Francis Drive.

While voters approved the money in 2012, councilors expressed concern that it wasn’t being used exactly how voters thought it would be.

The council hasn’t yet determined which other projects will receive the money.
