Woman arrested after police find child living in filth

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque mother is behind bars after police found her 2-year-old daughter living in filth. It happened after officers were dispatched to a house near Second and Montano for a welfare check on the child.

According to the criminal complaint, they found bugs and feces everywhere and broken glass on the floors. There was also a full training toilet with bugs in it in the girl’s bedroom.

Inside the fridge there was only celery, strawberries cottage cheese and beer.

The girl’s mother, 32-year-old Rachael Geraldon was arrested for child abuse. She claimed someone else made the mess and she was getting ready to clean it up.
