Memorial service held for helicopter crash victims

SANTA FE (KRQE) – Family and friends held a memorial service Wednesday for the three people who died in the medical helicopter crash near Santa Rosa.

Dozens gathered at the Capital High School football stadium in Santa Fe to say goodbye and remember pilot David Cavineaux, flight nurse Jamie Butler and flight paramedic Rebecca Serkey.

Serkey was buried Sunday in her hometown of Fort Lee, N.J.

The three were flying from Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center to pick up a patient in Tucumcari two weeks ago when the chopper went down on a rocky mesa off I-40 near Newkirk.
