Arrest made in Torrance County homicide

TORRANCE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Officials have arrested a suspect for the Torrance county murder of Mark Mountjoy.

A Torrance County deputy found Mark’s body when he encountered a suspicious scene while on patrol last week. Officials say the deputy found a truck on the side of the road and when he approached, a man ran away from the vehicle. The deputy stopped and looked inside the truck and found Mark’s body.

The crime has officially been labeled a homicide and police are currently looking for a weapon.
