New federal food program to help NM

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Federal officials have approved a $152,000 grant to develop food production in rural parts of the state.

The funds are available to small food manufacturing businesses in Catron, Grant, Hidalgo and Luna counties.

Officials say the program aims to help build a network of locally grown products to provide underprivileged families in New Mexico with healthy food.
