ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The dog fight over the Roswell Animal Shelter just won’t end.

A cartoonist drew another controversial comic for this Sunday’s paper, it calls the animal activists the puppy police and on their shirts there were a number of sayings including, “Pups Not Kids”.

The outcry started when the city changed the rules for adopting out animals to rescues in response to the mauling of a little boy.

The change as resulted in an increase in euthanizations.

The city is now being sued by the boy’s family who claims the city should have known the dogs were dangerous before releasing them to the shelter. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
