ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Talk about a whirlwind of a summer for former Lobos player Cameron Bairstow.
Bairstow is coming off an impressive NBA summer league season in his first year with the Chicago Bulls. The Aussie averaged 10 points and seven rebounds in league play for the Bulls who selected Bairstow in the second round of the NBA draft last month.
Now it’s time for Bairstow to put his NBA future on hold in order to represent his national team the Australia Boomers.
Bairstow has made the final roster for the FIBA basketball World Cup that fires up in August. Bairstow and Australia will face Slovenia in the opening round of play on Aug. 30.
