Police: Man beat 2-month-old son with hanger

Rodrigo Navarro is facing child abuse charges after allegedly beating his 2-month-old son.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man is behind bars Friday, after police say he beat his 2-month-old son with a hanger all because the baby wouldn’t stop crying.

According to police 27-year-old Rodrigo Navarro sent a number of upsetting message to the infant’s mother.

When she arrived home, she found her son lying face down on the bed.

She rushed him to UNM Hospital where doctors found extensive swelling and dark bruising on his left side of his face, marks on his chest and lower back.

Navarro, told police he was drinking when he became upset because the baby wouldn’t stop crying.

He now faces a child abuse charge.

The condition of the child is not known at this time.
