Girl mimics movie, calls 911 says she was kidnapped

Sheriffs investigate possible kidnapping in Moriarty

MORIARTY, N.M. (KRQE) – A little girl who made frightening 911 calls from a semi truck was not kidnapped.

News 13 was at the truck stop in Moriarty Friday afternoon as Torrance County Deputies searched big rigs trying to find the girl who had made dozens of 911 calls pleading for help.

They found her in one of the trucks.

The Torrance County Sheriff said that the 7-year-old girl is mentally disabled and was in the cab of her adoptive father’s truck making those calls mimicking scenes from The Call, a Hallie Berry movie she’d just seen.

CYFD and investigators determined she was never in any danger.
