ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – After six years, a wanted murder suspect is finally back in New Mexico.

Raul Pena is accused of shooting and killing Robert Chavez at the Giant gas station on Coors and Arenal after the two got into a minor accident in 2008.

He took off to Mexico and was finally caught near his parents’ home in Juarez last year.

On Wednesday, he was extradited to face second-degree murder charges among others. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
