Mayor Berry to meet with Navajo Nation leaders after two Native American men were killed over the weekend.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Mayor RJ Berry will meet with Navajo Nation leaders Thursday to talk about the weekend beating deaths of two homeless Navajo men in a west side vacant lot.

Navajo Nation President Ben Shelly asked Berry to meet with him and members of the Navajo Human Rights Commission.

Three teens are accused of attacking the victims as they slept early Saturday, pounding them with cinder blocks, bricks and a metal pole until they were unrecognizable.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the dead men as Allison Gorman and Kee Thompson. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
