There was a good crop of thunderstorms today across a wide area of New Mexico. Storms fired over the northern mountains and the Gila early in the day and eventually rolled toward the valleys. Here in the Albuquerque area a storm that was over the Pecos much of this afternoon eventually came down into the city by this evening and dumped up to three quarters of an inch of rain.
The heaviest rain amounts were across the southern mountains. Alto picked up 1.32 inches of rain. Storms will fire again tomorrow especially over the south and west. Here in the Albuquerque area we could see a shower overnight and early tomorrow however, the chance for rain goes down after that.
High-pressure will dominate once again by Thursday drastically reducing the number of storms across New Mexico. Temperatures will continue to rise underneath the high with fewer and fewer showers. Highs of the weekend could top out in the high 90s or even triple digits.
