E. Coli found at Mine Shaft Tavern

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – E. coli has been found in the water at a popular tourist stop.

The state environment department said it found contamination in the Mine Shaft Tavern water system in Madrid, New Mexico.

The restaurant and bar shares its water system with about 150 other people. The business is now using bottled water, until the problems can be corrected.

The state says the samples that tested positive for E. coli were collected on Saturday.
