Clovis man indicted for murder in vacant home

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A grand jury has indicted a Clovis man on second-degree murder charges for killing another man inside of a vacant home.

Police say 40-year-old Eric Valdez confessed to fatally shooting 33-year-old Jose Barrera.

Police say Barrera was found shot in the head inside the bathroom of an empty home.

Valdez claims the two had gotten into a fight over his daughter, who police say is a minor.
