Coach accused of assault may be banned from games

CARLSBAD, N.M. (KRQE) – The DA’s Office has filed a motion to review the conditions of release for a coach, accused of molesting a player.

On Thursday, a judge gave John Aragon permission to travel all the way to Missouri to watch his former team compete.

He’s a Carlsbad girls youth softball coach.

According to court documents, the judge didn’t inform the state before granting Aragon permission.

The DA’s Office is now requesting Aragon not be allowed to leave Carlsbad and have no position of authority of children under the age of 18. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
