ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former guard at the Metro Detention Center was in federal court Thursday to face drug trafficking charges.

Lucas Segura, 22, was arrested back in April after he admitted to smuggling heroin into MDC.

Drugs were also found under the driver’s seat of his vehicle parked outside the jail.

He had worked at MDC since 2012.
