City cleans up overgrown, vacant lot
Just a day after News 13 approached the city with complaints from neighbors about an overgrown lot the city has cleaned it up.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Just one day after News 13 reported a city-owned property on the west side was overgrown with weeds those weeds have been removed.

Residents had complained about the problem saying it was unfair for the city to allow the property to become overgrown when it can fine residents $300 the first time the city tells them to clean up their weeds.

The city told News 13 Wednesday it would clear the area next week but when we checked it Thursday, the weeds were gone. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
