NMSP cancels Amber Alert for 2 young children


LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police have cancelled an Amber Alert for 2 kids who they say were taken by their mother without permission from CYFD custody.

According to NMSP a 6-month-old boy and an 8-year-old boy were taken into CYFD custody from Davina Wilkins, 25, in May 2014.

Wilkins was visiting the children Tuesday when she fled the facility with them.

Wilkins and her children, 6-month-old James WIlkins and 8-year-old Michael Standingbear, were found in Alamosa, Colorado late Tuesday evening.

The kids were unharmed and police arrested Wilkins on two counts of custodial interference.
