Man escapes gunfire with knife

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. (KRQE) – Police say a man brought a knife to a gun fight and won.

The Alamogordo Daily News reports that two men got into an argument last week and one man, Johnnie Ridley pulled out a 22.

The other, a 65-year-old man, stabbed Ridley in the leg fearing he was going to be shot.

Now Ridley faces a number of charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The man who stabbed him was not charged.
