ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A truck stop company with 13 locations in New Mexico has agreed to pay millions of dollars in fines for cheating customers.
The U.S. attorney’s office says employees at Pilot Flying J truck stops were withholding rebates and discounts and pocketing the money.
The company said it was not aware of the scheme but has agreed to pay $92 million in fines. Ten employees have already pleaded guilty to federal charges.
The truck stop chain is owned by Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam.
