NMSU officials to announce new medical school

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The development of a new medical school at New Mexico State University is expected to be announced Monday.

State and federal officials are expected to be in Las Cruces for the announcement of the proposed privately financed school of osteopathic medicine.

The proposed school would be private but have links to the university, including student housing and services.

The $85 million project is expected to produce 150 osteopathic doctors annually starting in 2020.
