Man arrested for attacking woman at restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man is in jail after he allegedly beat a woman until she lost consciousness in the parking lot of a northwest Albuquerque restaurant.

According to a criminal complaint, Ryan Mathis was arguing with a woman about previously beating her when he got upset and attacked her again.

Witnesses at the Stumbling Steer on Ellison near Alameda told police he threw her to the ground, punched and choked her. Two men had to hold Mathis down until police got there.

Mathis is being held without bond.
