High-speed rollover kills 1 in Clovis

CLOVIS, N.M. (KRQE) – A passenger in a high-speed crash was killed in Clovis on Sunday after the vehicle rolled over.

The crash occured around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of 7th Street and Norris Street.

Police say upon arrival, officers located a crashed black Hyundai that appeared to have lost control and traveled into a parking lot before striking a barrier and a curb that caused the vehicle to roll.

The driver of the car, 20-year-old Tylan Bolden, survived. His passenger, 22-year-old Andrew Padilla, was ejected and killed.

Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

No charges have been filed, but the Clovis Police Department continues to investigate.
