Protesters ask Mayor Berry for justice

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A small group that normally protests police brutality, protested against the mayor Monday.

The protesters called for Mayor R.J. Berry to meet with constituents who are concerned about APD shootings. Some want him to resign altogether.

“The best thing that the mayor can do right now with his ratings is gracefully resign so someone can take over and do the job,” Jim Bowes said.

The group says they chose the corner of Central and Tramway for their protest because they wanted to let the mayor’s own neighbors know what they thought of him, but said they had no plans to march to the mayor’s house. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
