Clovis looks to ABQ ordinance for help with strip club proposal.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Clovis Commission is looking to Albuquerque as it tries to deal with a proposed strip club.

Clovis has never had an adult business like this, so right now there are no laws that regulate or prohibit them.

But last month a businessman approached county officials with the proposal.

With widespread opposition to the proposed club, the commission is trying to figure out the best way to deal with it.

Commissioners are now looking to Albuquerque’s ordinance on adult clubs to try to figure out their next move.

The Albuquerque ordinance does prohibit adult clubs close to churches or schools. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
