Alex Guerrero could return to Isotopes soon

Isotopes ear biting victim on the mend

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Alex Guerrero, scarred ear and all, could be back playing ball with the Isotopes in a week,

A teammate bit off a big chunk of the $30 million Cuban infielder’s left ear during a dug-out brawl in late May.

That teammate, Miguel Olivo, was released a few days later.

Guerrero had to undergo plastic surgery and wait to see if the re-attachment job on his ear would work.

Now, he’s just started playing with the Dodgers rookie league team in Arizona to get back in shape and it appears his time off didn’t hurt him.

He hit a home run last night in his first game back. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
