ABQ Ride driver named employee of the week

Jerry Hunter was named City of Albuquerque employee of the week for helping a woman while on his shift.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An ABQ Ride driver took a moment out of his day to help a woman in need.

Friday the city recognized his efforts by naming him employee of the week.

ABQ Ride driver, Jerry Hunter was on his route in the northeast heights when he noticed a woman in a wheelchair stuck in gravel on a median near Jaun Tabo and Menaul.

That’s when he pulled over, got out and with the help of a Denny’s employee helped the woman across the street.

A witness of the good dead, nominated him, asking that he be recognized.

Jerry was also given tickets to an upcoming Isotope’s game.

As for the woman they helped, she was on her way to the store when she got caught in the median.
