Police: Nephew arrested after shooting uncle

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police say a domestic dispute between two men ended in shots fired Thursday in southwest Albuquerque.

The shooting happened around 1 p.m. near Coors Place and Owen Road. When police arrived on scene they found a man in his 50’s with a gunshot wound to the arm.

According to police, the accused shooter, who is in his 30’s, fled the scene and ran into a large field. They said he was arrested a short time later.

The victim was transported to UNM Hospital and his condition is stable.

Police continue to investigate.
