Projects to tackle South Valley flooding issues

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) -There are nine new projects being worked on in the South Valley to address on-going flooding concerns.

They will also help improve traffic flow and make sure kids have safe routes to school.

Thursday, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, Bernalillo County, the state transportation department and others held a news conference to discuss the various projects.

Some of improvements will include widening culverts and drains in the area to more quickly move storm waters.
