Man facing murder, child sex charges faces judge

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man accused of soliciting sex from someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl faced a judge Thursday.

Walter Brown is accused of sending naked pictures and explicit texts.

Bernalillo county deputies arrested him Wednesday.

It happened while he was out on bond for allegedly stabbing a man to death back in 2011.

His stay in jail in that case was cut short because his attorney’s argued that his $250,000 bond was too high.

They took it all the way to the Supreme Court and won.

He was out on bond in that case when he allegedly solicited a teenage girl.

The judge set his bond at $50,000 cash or surety in that case.

The district attorney’s office says it plans to file a new motion to change conditions of his release. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
