Storms will not be as numerous today as we reuse some of the moisture left from yesterday. The favored areas will be over the northern and western high terrain. The steering flow will be a little better today, so flash flooding will not be as high of a risk. However, a few storms could still deliver heavy rainfall.
The area of high pressure sitting over the Four Corners will finally shift east, allowing for a weak monsoon flow across the west through the end of the week. With a southerly flow in place, storms will travel south to north across the west late this week.
Over the weekend, the high shifts back to the west, once again limiting the traditional monsoon flow. Some moisture will still be able to sneak in under the high, but storm coverage will not be as impressive this weekend. Another round of moisture moves in early next week in the form of another cold front.
