SANTA FE (KRQE) – A 25-year-old Santa Fe woman is facing robbery charges after admitting to a recent hotel robbery.
According to Santa Fe Police Department, Amanda Ahumada was in detention in Torrance County for violating her parole on a DWI charge when she admitted to robbing the Holiday Inn Express in Santa Fe in May.
Community tips lead police to Ahumada who can be seen on surveillance video jumping out of a car, threatening a hotel employee and fleeing the scene with money.
Police say Ahumada told the employee, “I’m not afraid to blast you,” implying she had a gun.
Police also tell KRQE News 13, Ahumada told police she robbed the hotel because she needed money to buy beer.
SFPD are still investigating leads on the two men who were seen with Ahumada during the robbery.
The suspects are described as Hispanic men. One is believed to be in his late 20s. He is bald and was wearing a black muscle shirt.
All three left the scene in a white four-door Suzuki Forenza with aftermarket rims.
